Mirror Lake Inn |
As 2007 began drawing to a close, we noticed the expiration date on our free companion ticket drawing closer and closer. So we broke out the laptop and started searching for cheap airfare - the companion ticket was free, we'd have to pay for the other. After a prolonged search, we found a good rate for Albany, New York. (Yes, Albany). Apparently that's not a big travel destination, but it is only a short drive to the Adirondack Mountains, where Lake Placid sits.
Lake Placid
After landing in Albany, we took the scenic drive north through the Adirondacks to Lake Placid. The roughly 2 hour drive got us there just in time for dinner, and just in time to avoid the rain. We settled in at the Mirror Lake Inn before heading out for dinner and a relaxing evening. It began raining shortly after we got there, and did not stop until it was time to leave on Sunday, but we still had a good time! |
